At first glance the pictures disclose the temperament of an artist who paints quite as he pleases. That is not an uncommon type in the art world today, but Mr Gerassi works with an added dash of independent enterprise.
He is a true romantic, following the direction of instinct. Often he works with a very thick past of color, shaping a motif of extreme simplicity.
